Planet Janet has been orbiting the circus arts world for since 2004 and working professionally in the flow arts since 2010. After she built her first hula hoop she was chosen by 'the hoop life' and has found joy, expression and growth ever since, expanding her repertoire of talents and props. Discovering hoop dance was her way back to movement and self expression after being a dancer in her youth and suffering some medical issues  that changed the course of her life.

 

At the heart of everything she does is a commitment to play and curiosity, which she believes is integral for people of all ages.

She loves to encourage others and share her passion for what is possible. Certified as a HoopLove Coach, she has been teaching beginner, intermediate and advanced classes in and around her island community on the coast of BC, Canada.

She is a sought after performer for her professionalism, stage presence and dynamic skills set. 

From children's entertainment to coordinating choreographed multi-performer fire shows, roving entertainment and solo stage shows; she loves all the places her hoops take her!

Her degree in Child and Youth Care has equipped her with counselling and facilitation skills that work well in circus arts groups with therapeutic goals. She has taught middle school students and youth in the community within a social circus capacity.
